What is it about?
This qualitative study investigated grief, as we were concerned that a bad death would increase grief. We found most people have very different types and severity of grief. Most people could identify good and bad aspects of the death and dying process.

Why is it important?
Good deaths are very important not only for the dying person but also the people left behind to grieve. Bad death prevention is needed to help people grieve less.
Perspectives
We were delighted that this good journal published this study report. We hope all health care professionals and the general public read it, as grief is such a serious matter. Grief could depend a great deal on if the death was seen as good or bad.
