What is it about?

In this article, we aim to develop a proxy measure of reputation based on violent and non-violent actions terror groups strategically engage in. To this end, we collect original data generating three dimensions of reputation for 443 terror groups in a period from 1980 to 2011. We separately treat actions terror groups engage in respect to different audience they aim to reach.

Why is it important?

It is an original quantitative data collection in a global coverage of terror groups. Also, we theoretically create different dimensions of reputation building differentiating audiences.
