What is it about?

There are limited differences between the gingival tissue transcriptional profiles of aggressive and chronic periodontitis. Tackling the complexity of periodontitis and in a attempt to offer diagnostic tools to discriminate aggressive from chronic forms of the disease, we suggest a series of complexity methods to circumvent the clinical problem.

Why is it important?

There are no definite explanation yet, genetic or pathophysiological, about the different clinical course of aggressive cases. It is important however, to continue searching for what is really happening with aggressive periodontitis.
