Why is it important?
The violations of the rights of people with mental disorders have been common over history. Even if significant improvements have been done since the time of inhumane asylums where people with mental disorders received no health care, there is still a lot to do. A comprehensive inventory of the realities is a necessary first step toward identifying the current problems. This work used the WHO quality rights toolkit to identify the shortages and the areas to improve.
