What is it about?

How can nursing homes improve the quality of care they provide? We have shown for the first time how care quality and the quality of care workers' jobs are linked in a systematic way. We have used comparative case study analysis of 12 nursing homes to identify the dimensions of job quality that matter for decent care.

Why is it important?

Our findings show and explain a tipping point at which cost saving measures introduced into nursing homes spills over into impoverished care.

Perspectives
