What is it about?

This paper advocates for greater research collaboration between academia and industry. It discusses the advantages, the challenges, the inhibitions etc. It also proposes solution to each and every problem preventing appropriate collaboration. The paper proposes policy suggestions for University Policies as well as for scientific/innovation policy of the state.

The Government of India brought out the National IPR Policy 2016. It is a good start in this direction and this paper discusses its achievements. It also suggests future necessary course of action for achieving synergy in the efforts made by academia as well as industry for knowledge creation.
