What is it about?

Univ. prof. Fabian is catholic priest. In introductions of his homilies he often uses jokes. In this article, I studied the methodology of their use in dynamizing communication and creating the prerequisites for understanding and accepting the message that will be developed in homily.

Why is it important?

His approach is very quick. After few sentences he creates communication with the hearers and immediately they can be prepared for understanding (and probably for agreement with) the message, that will be developed in the homily. His communication is dynamic and bears biblical message. We can learn something from him.

Perspectives

We use to say, that the preaching is in the crisis. There are examples, which show the way from it. In Fabian´s homilies I found dynamic, which transcends interpersonal communication, because it bears the Word of God. For this aim, a joke can also be used with good reason.
