What is it about?
The study examined how the availability of office shared spaces (for formal meetings and for informal discussion) is related to sitting at work. We found that sufficient space for informal discussion was associated with lower levels of sitting among those who perceived their workplace supporting less sitting and more moving.

Why is it important?
Office workers tend to spend a large proportion of time at work sitting. As prolonged sitting can increase the risk of chronic diseases, reducing sitting at work is important to help office workers to improve their health.
