What is it about?

Why is it important?

This study suggests that the tenets of CRL, in this context, were grounded in inter and intrafaith dialogue, cultural syncretism, and a unique focus on the development of an American Muslim identity.

Perspectives

For these Islamic school leaders, applying these tenets not only led others to question hegemonies but also developed and strengthened their own critical consciousness, an essential skill in this time of anti-Muslim discourses and tensions.
