Why is it important?

The article shows the convergences and divergences from social capital, actor network theory and sociologies of the south as means to discuss the dynamic movement of asymmetries in knowledge networks between the global North and the global South as entities that are in a process of constant negotiation.

Perspectives

Knowledge networks literature is highly fragmented. This articles relates main bodies of literature to explore tensions in knowledge networks. Through a process of identification of convergences and divergences among social capital, actor-networked theory and sociologies of the south, the article offers analytical tools to render power relationships visible in knowledge networks.
