In this article I examine reasons why dismissal of child-patients for non-vaccination is ethically questionable.

Why is it important?

There is an increased interest in dismissing patients as a way to manage parental vaccine refusal. But reflection on the implications of responding in such a way shows why it should not be done. I emphasize the need to build sound clinical relationships with families and to build trust.
