What is it about?
When an auricle is protruding in the upper third there can be two reasons: 1) Hypo plastic antihelix with a hypo plastic superior crus 2) Hypo plastic inferior crus Very often it is a combination thereof, but the inferior crus is often neglected.

Why is it important?
A hypo plastic inferior crus cannot be compensated by overcorrection of the superior crus.
Perspectives
This publication is essential in otoplasty to get a natural look. I know it will take some time to get the importance it deserves. Then everybody will say: "unbelievable, how could we do otoplasty without including the inferior crus"
