Why is it important?
Our findings show, that traditional project management approaches are applied by high-tech startups to a minimal extent. More attention is devoted to agile and lean practices, which allow for achieving better product-market fit, risk mitigation, and embedding changes into the product development cycle. The study shows that planning is important, but product-oriented and occurring in short time iterations.
Perspectives
Writing this article was a great pleasure as the interviewees were very cooperative and provided a range of interesting insights. Sharing of the findings may help other new high-tech companies to improve product development and thus have a better chance of launching and commercializing products on the market.
