What is it about?

This research study aimed to examine the financial impact of college athletics success and overall private contributions to the institution. The results found a statistically significant difference for those institutions that achieved high-level athletics success in relation to increased private donations to the overall university (not just athletics) following that success.

Why is it important?

This study included at institutions over a 10 year period (2002-2011) and examined multiple years before and after the athletics success to determine the financial impact of the athletics success to the institution.
