What is it about?

A cat presented to a veterinarian with lethargy and decreased appetite. He had very low sodium and high potassium levels, and was found to have low aldosterone levels and low-normal cortisol levels (Addison's disease), which is very rare in cats. He was diagnosed with lymphoma only in his adrenal glands, and underwent chemotherapy.

Why is it important?

This is the first time a cat has been diagnosed with Primary Adrenal Lymphoma, which is a described syndrome in humans. Addison's disease (low aldosterone, low cortisol) is very rare in cats, and lymphoma may be an under-diagnosed cause of this pathology.
