Endoscopic full thickness resection of colorectal neoplasms with the Full Thickness Resection Device

What is it about?

The new technique of endoscopic full thickness resection by the full-thickness resection device appears to be feasible, efficacious and adequately safe. It may obviate the need for surgical resection in selected patients.

Why is it important?

Minimal invasive techniques are getting more and more important in order to treat our patients in the most gentle way. The technique we present in our study helps to treat difficult polyps endoscopically whereas in the past these lesions often had to be treated surgically.

Writing this article was a great pleasure as the research in the field of new endoscopic techniques is very promising and inspiring. Hopefully this study will help to treat our patients with difficult colonic or rectal lesions in future less invasive but nevertheless successful.
