What is it about?

Many older adults have inadequate health literacy and poor medication compliance. This study showed how comic books improved their health literacy level and encouraged them to take medication accordingly.

Why is it important?

These comic books are important to help older adults to understand the drug labels and follow the instructions on the labels. With better understanding, older adults are compliant to the drug regime.

Perspectives

This is an interdisciplinary community-based work in which nurses, social workers, medical students, pharmacist students, and nursing students are involved. Each party plays a significant role to make this intervention implemented in the community so that we can test the efficacy of the comic books. Amazing work!
