What is it about?

Analysis of texts of climate change news' articles generated by Latin American climate change organizations shows mainly focus on the problematization of climate change. In general, no significant differences were found between organizations when results from texts' analysis were compared. Implications for rethinking on how climate change news' articles are produced and distributed are required.

Why is it important?

It is unique in the sense that this is the first regional perspective with climate change organizations, who normally are the information sources for corporate news outlets.

Perspectives

The idea is to switch from only regarding corporate news media to these other voices in the generation of climate change information. These other voices are constituted by the regional climate change organizations who have a heavy toll of decision-making when it comes to policies, projects, actions at regional and national levels. It is interesting and, at the same time, deceiving to see that communicators use almost same recipes to communicate about climate change, even though the contexts of news' generation differ, same as the audience, newer communication strategies (not only the use of new technologies) do not really develop for better interaction/participation with the audience and their implicit learning process from these other outlets.
