The case report presents a rare occurrence of a carotid body tumour that has become malignant and metastised to various body systems.

Why is it important?

The important feature of this report is to highlight how both PET, CT and ultrasound are used to arrive at a correct diagnosis in the case of rare tumours.

Perspectives

Writing about multi-modal imaging allowed me to bring together components from many aspects of medical imaging in one place as a quick reference for an uncommon pathology of metastatic vascular tumors
