What is it about?
This research was carried out to check current situation of biosafty performance in private sector Hospital medical laboratories of Karachi, Pakistan. For this purpose questionnaire and checklist was designed . Our study found moderate level of biosafety performance among five selected medical laboratories. Major deficiencies were found in laboratory design or engineering controls and administrative controls.

Why is it important?
Our study findings show that still in some laboratories biosafety performance is compromised and there is strict need to address such issues.
Perspectives
Writing this article was great pleasure as it has given us an opportunity to address the critical issues that most of the laboratories are facing in Karachi, Pakistan. I hope our study will provide great support to solve such problems .
