Why is it important?

The Human Agency-Based Individual Transformation (HABIT) model crystalizes Albert Bandura's human agency theory in a practitioner friendly way. It can be used as a framework for many different HRD interventions such as coaching, leadership development, career development, organization development, and instructional systems design.

Perspectives

I developed the Assessment of Human Agency (AHA) for my dissertation (Yoon, 2011) utilizing Albert Bandura's human agency theory. It, however, has never been published as fellow researchers did not recognize human agency theory as a valid theory (perhaps due to lack of this type of foundational work). This article was necessary to establish a strong foundation for further developments based on human agency theory.
