Why is it important?
Healthcare has evolved. Patients are cared for in more challenging settings such as homecare, surgery centers and clinics, new microorganisms arise from the community such as Ebola, MRSA and KPC, patients are sicker and require more care in hospitals; we need new strategies to protect patients and care providers in this new more difficult world.
Perspectives
A Leapfrog Partners Advisory Work group with representatives from Nemours Children’s Hospital; Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s; Hospital Corporation of America; Vestagen Protective Technologies and The Leapfrog Group with the Assistance of the International Safety Center did this work.
