Why is it important?
Music theory is often a struggle for music students. If future music majors receive good instruction in high school, through an AP Music Theory course, they are more apt to stay with the major finish the degree.
Perspectives
AP Music Theory was one of my favorite courses to teach as a secondary educator. I hope this article can encourage current teachers in the field.
