What is it about?

Paper deals with advanced numerical analysis of piezoelectric sensor under impact load to assess its electric response and thus induced electric voltage. The sensor is embedded in a composite flooring panel that can be used in an intelligent building.

Why is it important?

New numerical methods such as meshless methods have gained increased interest in research community. Application of these methods to smart material applications such as piezoelectric devices can bring some advantages over other standard numerical methods.

Perspectives

The paper gives thoruough explanation of solution procedure for application of MLPG method and can be used by the research community to get better understanding of 3D meshless solution techniques for smart piezoelectric media.
