Why is it important?
Diversity studies have mostly been done outside India and have largely focused on race, gender and ethnicity. The relevance of these studies to India remains less explored. Hence, faculties from various disciplines in higher education institutions were interviewed across six states and a union territory in India. The results bring out a few fascinating facts about the current status of diversity in the higher eductions institutions in India.
Perspectives
I am sure that this article would be of great value to those interested in diversity and inclusion in the higher educations institutions. This is not only about study participants' experiences of teaching and/or living in a college campus but also about the life of students, faculty, staff, administration, management and all those stakeholders who are part of the college community and/or campus life. It touches the life of every person who is part of the higher education institution in one way or the other. I hope you find this article interesting and valuable.
