What is it about?
The objective of this study was to develop calibration equations for NIR spectroscopic determination of the Paspalum dilatatum Poir. forage quality parameters ADF, NDF, crude protein, dry matter and ash
Featured Image
Why is it important?
The NIR spectroscopy calibration obtained according to our results shows that the NDF equations are acceptable for quantitative estimation of dallisgrass quality, while the DM, CP, ADF and ash equations are useful for screening purposes.
Perspectives
The NIR calibration equations developed in this study are reliable and will be useful in predicting the contents of crude protein and NDF; however, further studies are needed to improve the performance of the calibrations for DM, ash, and ADF in dallisgrass.
