Why is it important?

These findings are very important because they provide a safe and effective way to prevent and control HBV infection, and also for the development of actions that assist in promoting the health of these vulnerable women.

This publication shows the situation of vulnerability of women in an area of low development index in Brazil. This scenario can be changed if prevention, control and health promotion actions were carried out, especially considering the specificities of these women. It is a difficult but extremely necessary task to change the worrying epidemiological scenario.
