What is it about?

Lack of planned adaptation instigate autonomous adaptation by private actors. Maladaptations by private actors can increase community flood risk.

Why is it important?

Autonomous adaptation can either reduce or increase community flood risk management. Therefore, it needs to be addressed as an integral part of adaptation measures at the broader scale of Thailand’s urban climate governance under the current threat of climate change.

Perspectives

Local flood adaptation in the peri-urban area is increasing due to climate change and rapid urbanization. However there are small evidences in ASEAN countries and I hope my paper can fill in this gap.
