Why is it important?
SAA is indicative of inflammation in the body. Evaluating medical procedures and their potential inflammatory effects is important in equine health and welfare.
Perspectives
I greatly enjoyed working on this project with my co-author. We have a strong interest in the stall-side use of SAA as a marker of inflammation in the horse which can be of great use to field veterinarians during their evaluations and treatment of horses.
