What is it about?
It defined in detail the anatomy of the anterior meniscal roots
Featured Image
Why is it important?
This study clearly showed the attachments of the anterior meniscal roots.
Perspectives
This study set the stage for a clearer definition of the importance of avoiding iatrogenic injury to these attachments- which can lead to knee arthritis. The anterior medial root can be easily injured with a tibial intramedulary nail for fracture fixation. And more important, it clearly defined for the first time that the anterior horn of the lateral meniscus and the ACL overlap-which is becoming a hot topic in sports research.
