What is it about?
The prophetic and deliverance ministry is an attempt to contextualize Christianity in Africa by responding to the existential needs of the African people. Although, their approach may fit well into the African cultural context, their emphasis is a threat to the progress of Christian discipleship both in Africa and among Africans in the diaspora. To mitigate the challenges of this ministry, this article suggests that pragmatic solutions being discussed at the academic levels must be made accessible to grassroots prophets.

Why is it important?
The article proposes that there is the need for Pentecostal Mission in Africa to pay attention to equipping church leaders and all who manifest gifts of the Spirit, especially, prophetic gifts. Conversations taking place among scholars concerning the abuses and manipulations taking in the prophetic /deliverance ministry must be made accessible to grassroots prophets and deliverance ministers.
