Worldview. A worldview can be such that a pre-occupation with countering bad things can preempt efforts at creating good things.

Why is it important?
The implications of the above for dependence of Africa on the West are enormous. Typically, it is the West that is expected to provide 'good' things.
Perspectives
This is something that I gradually observed over the years. I continue frequently to observe it, although it seems many people do not recognise it.
