What is it about?

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a well-established treatment for severe mental health conditions, and it can be difficult to deliver in full due to the resources and training required. Many clients, therefore, receive DBT-informed care, which draws from components of DBT. This article explores the use of Pixar's Inside Out as a DBT-informed therapeutic tool for adults. The film highlights core DBT principles, including the importance of validating emotions before working toward change.
