What is it about?
Burnout among behavioral health professionals is widespread and has worsened in recent years, affecting both staff well-being and the quality of care they provide. This article introduces the Organizational Well-Being Inventory (OWBI), a free tool that helps organizations understand and improve workplace conditions that impact staff. Instead of focusing only on individual coping strategies, the OWBI highlights practical changes organizations can make, such as improving work environments, support, and recognition. By using this tool, leaders can identify ways to reduce burnout, retain staff, and strengthen services. Supporting the well-being of the workforce is essential for delivering effective, high-quality mental health care.
