What is it about?
Street psychiatry is a form of clinical practice that brings mental health care to unsheltered people wherever they may reside—on city sidewalks, park benches, and under bridges. However, the growth of the field has been hindered by a lack of basic published literature. The purpose of this Open Forum is therefore to provide a framework for how to approach psychiatry on the street. This approach, honed through years of experience working within an interdisciplinary team, may help serve as a guide for other psychiatrists.
