What is it about?

Many children and adolescents who go to the emergency department in need of mental health care end up waiting in there for several days. After waiting, some get admitted to inpatient psychiatry and some do not. We found that children and adolescents who were admitted after waiting multiple days were less likely to return to the emergency department or to be admitted in the future.
