What is it about?
The number of specialized hospital psychiatry units for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders has more than doubled in the past decade. These units are designed to meet the unique needs of this population and utilize a different model of care and more intensive and multi-disciplinary staffing. These units can provide an effective path for children with developmental delay experiencing emotional and behavioral crises.
