What is it about?

This national study quantifies racial and rural disparities in mental healthcare access across different settings. We found that Black participants more frequently sought acute mental healthcare, whereas White participants were more engaged in outpatient and virtual care. Although there were no significant differences in inpatient/outpatient services between rural and urban participants, telehealth use was lower among rural participants.
