Transgender youth face serious mental health risks due to discrimination, including in mental health care. Providers need knowledge and skills to better support transgender youth. The paper describes the development and content of Gender Affirming Psychotherapy (GAP) — a flexible and comprehensive intervention that can be used to modify any mental health treatment for transgender youth.
