What is it about?
Health care workers face unique stressors during a pandemic - the profession dictates that they put themselves in harms way in order to treat those most in need. Our mid-pandemic, national survey of US-based healthcare workers revealed that ~40% were experiencing clinically significant symptoms of anxiety, depression and/or post-traumatic stress disorder. These data highlight the need for our healthcare workers and healthcare organizations to work together to create programs and cultures that enhance resiliency of the workforce to ensure maximum performance and quality of life during times of increased stress.
