Introversion and Neuroticism in Akinetic-Rigid Parkinson’s Disease: Association With Frontal-Executive Dysfunction

What is it about?

we assessed which, if any, personality trait was associated with which specific motor subtype of PD (e.g., tremor-dominant – TD, and akinetic-rigid – AR, phenotype), and which, if any, frontal/executive function was associated with personality traits in a specific motor subtype of PD. We found that AR-PD showed significantly lower performance in frontal/executive tests than TD-PD. Moreover, AR-PD showed more psychopathological symptoms and higher neuroticism and introversion than TD-PD.
