What is it about?

Antibodies to neuronal receptors are known to cause an encephalitis syndrome with a wide range of cognitive and psychiatric symptoms. These antibodies are also found in other neurological conditions but the implications of this is unknown. This study found that antibodies to the NMDA receptor were more common in patients with Parkinson's disease and associated with greater cognitive decline over time.
