What is it about?

We describe delirium causes and clinical characteristics, as well as the relationship between COVID-19 and delirium severities, at baseline and follow-up after delirium improvement among patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Why is it important?

The severity of delirium is related to the severity of COVID-19, even in patients with few comorbidities. Severe delirium can increase the risk of death among COVID-19 patients. Delirium have at least three medica etiologies in this patients.

Perspectives

COVID-19 patients should be assessed for delirium and its severity with valid tools, such as the DDT-Pro.
