Why is it important?

Psychosocial interventions are amongst the most effective for the full range of mental health conditions but the vast majority of people, in particular from disadvantaged contexts and populations, do not receive them. This is the single biggest crisis of mental health care globally.

Perspectives

The EMPOWER program represents the culmination of nearly three decades of work on documenting the scale of unmet needs for mental health care in low resource settings globally and the systematic approach to design and evaluate scalable mental health interventions which leverage widely available community resources and meet people where they are.
