What is it about?

A recent study in the Journal found a lower risk of schizophrenia 10 years after use of doxycycline compared to use of other antibiotics. I note that one possible mediator of this relationship could be the antiparasitic effect of doxycycline on Toxoplasma gondii, which has been proposed as a cause of some fraction of schizophrenia cases.
