Association of Cannabis Use Disorder Versus Other Substance Use Disorders With Psychiatric Conditions: A Propensity-Matched Retrospective Cohort Analysis

What is it about?

We examined the link between cannabis use disorder and mental health conditions as compared to other substance use disorders using a retrospective cohort design. Our results showed that adults with cannabis use disorder had a lower risk of developing most mental health conditions in adults but a higher risk for many conditions in children. There may be age-dependent effects of cannabis on the development of mental health conditions.
