What is it about?

Alcohol use disorder is difficult to treat. This study showed that patients given the drug ketamine were more able to stay abstinent from alcohol than those given placebo. We also found that giving psychological therapy alongside ketamine meant there was a greater reduction in drinking than giving the drug alone but this finding needs following up.
