What is it about?
Knowing the correlates of violent behavior in schizophrenia aids treatment and helps clinicians understand psychosis. The authors examined data from 1435 people with schizophrenia followed for 18 months. They found that the strongest correlates of injuring someone else while in treatment were having recently acted violently and having recently been the victim of violence oneself. This suggests that such violence is often related to conflicted family and intimate relationships.
