Why is it important?

This special case may give hints about neuro-psychological mechanisms facilitating highly developed techniqual skills as well as creativity and the role of developmental traumatic stress and dissociation; e.g. possible role of suppression of default mode network. In fact, the role of trance in production of art work is well known. On the other hand, possible relationship between psychopathology and creativity is an understudied area.

Perspectives

I hope that this presentation facilitates attention to childhood psychological trauma, its role in psychopathology, wide presence of dissociative disorders in clinical and general population settings, their relationship to creativity and art.
