Development of the Therapeutic Alliance in Alternative Settings to Psychiatric Hospitalization: An Open Comparative Study

What is it about?

Many alternatives to psychiaric hospitalization have been developed in recent years. However, not much is known about how such aternatives differ from the traditional hospitalization in terms of how the patient-therapist bond developes throughout the treatment. This study demostrates that the bond develps in a similar manner to the traditional hopsitalization in two other alternatives: technologically-assisted home hospitalization and the Soteria homes. These findings further support the importance of these alternatives and thier potential to faclitate recovery.
